As you are aware, effective February, 1 2016 a client is now able to participate in In-Home Support Services (IHSS) with the support of an IHSS provider agency.
An IHSS client who is not able to direct and manage their own care has the option to participate in IHSS by either:
1) Appointing an Authorized Representative
2) Receiving agreed upon support from an IHSS provider agency to direct and manage care needs.
A new IHSS form has been created to clarify the supports a client will receive from an IHSS provider agency in the event the client cannot direct and manage their own care and does not wish to have an authorized representative.
This form is available on the Department website at: www.colorado.gov/hcpf/participant-directed-programs
This form is also available on the Consumer Direct Colorado website: IHSS Provider and Client Responsibilities
Consumer Direct Colorado will incorporate this document into their case manager trainings in the near future. IHSS providers are being notified of this new form and a training for IHSS providers will be scheduled in the near future.
